Crossing Sacred Ground follows the transformative journey of two Native women from distinct backgrounds as they leave their reservations to begin a new life in New York City. One woman, a transgender individual, and the other, a woman deeply rooted in her heritage, both carry the weight of their homelands, traditions, and aspirations. As they navigate an unfamiliar world, they remain deeply connected to their cultural identity. This series explores themes of identity, resilience, sisterhood, and the sacredness of both where we come from and where we are going. Filmed with authenticity and heart, Crossing Sacred Ground honors the courage of Indigenous peoples who, throughout history, have left their homelands in search of a better future for their communities, striving to reclaim what was lost.
